I was never really a comics person, but I can’t help but love super-lo-fi, semi-crappily-scrawled relationship comics about awkward neurotics. Which is why Jeffrey Brown is my hero. (This is a comic about his falling in love with Cat Power.)

My favorite thing about the Brown comics is the Girlfriend trilogy, three books in which he erratically but exhaustively documents his first relationships (including the loss of his virginity at 24). So many people accused him of being a pussy in those books that he countered with this gem (click the image to read some of it):
